This maybe a late post sorry. But I really believe in their good campaigns. I maybe far but I am sure you will love their big heart. Cebuana Lhuillier, the country’s largest microfinancial institution, advocates to provide more security to Philippines’ small communities.
Last June 1, 2016 at the Fairmont Hotel Makati, Cebuana in partnership with Pioneer Insurance announced that it will be giving away free microinsurance covers to 1 million Filipinos within the days leading up to July 21 – National Pilipino Protektado Day.
Cebuana Lhuillier President and CEO Jean Henri Lhuillier said the project is propagated with the company’s mission of financial inclusion.
“Through this campaign, Cebuana Lhuillier aims to make microinsurance part of disaster preparation for Filipinos since the Philippines is struck by multiple disasters every year. It is about time that we all come together to help those in need, especially during times of crisis. We at Cebuana Lhuillier have been pushing for financial inclusion and this is just one of the many ways that we believe would get us closer to that goal. Disasters wreak havoc to different communities in the country, resulting to loss of life and livelihood, so it is imperative that everyone is properly protected. More than having the usual emergency kits, obtaining microinsurance is another practical way to be prepared,” CEO Lhuillier said.
CEO Lhuillier also acknowledged the efforts and value of relief operations conducted by the government agencies and volunteer organizations such as DEPARTMENT OF SOCIAL WELFARE AND DEVELOPMENT, THE PHILLIPINE RED CROSS, OXFAM INTERNATIONAL, GLOBAL PEACE FOUNDATION, GIRL SCOUTS OF THE PHILLIPINES AND BOY SCOUTS OF THE PHILIPPINES. First bactch of microinsurance covers will be given to the said groups. Mentioned were also awarded with emergency relief kits, life vests and lifebuoys to be used in rescue and relief endeavors.
Cebuana Lhuillier has more than 6 million Filipinos covered through microinsurance already. The National Pilipino Protektado Day and the rest of Cebuana’s initiatives are eager towards heightening microinsurance especially for the low income.
They are also proud to have more quality and affordable microinsurance products to protect the lives and livelihood of Filipino citizens.
They also launched this useful and friendly online kits:
CEBUANA ALERTO, an Android app that promotes vital information about disaster preparedness and OURHELP, a website managed for microinsurance donations and arrangement of Microinsurance Agents Association of the Philippines, Inc. (MIAPPI). It’s an organization for the microinsurance agents’ welfare.
I am really happy and impressed for this micro-financial company. They are really geared for Filipinos’ safety, preparations, security and concern. Our country is geographically typhoon-prone but it can be prevented at least about the insured recovery and financial aid.
By the way, CEBUANA have been in this advocacy since the start of 2016. They mounted a disaster resilience forum with the support of the Insurance Commission and GIZ (The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit). Proclaimed as “2016 Ready: Disaster Resilience Forum – The Role of Microinsurance in Building Disaster-Resilient Communities”. They are campaigning and promoting MICROINSURANCE as an effective tool for disaster risk control. Their success have inspired them to reach road shows in major cities like Baguio, Cebu and Davao.
Never did I know that CEBUANA advocates for the financial security and aid, better and affordable microinsurance, disaster risk management. This good news is worth spreading!
